Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson - I read his first novel Elantris, it had a very cool premise, but I thought the story broke down in the end. I'll let you all know how I find Warbreaker.

My Wild West RPG campaign has finished for now.  We will probably pick it up again in late autumn due to popular demand.  We’ve started a new World of Darkness game, werewolves and vampires allied against a zombie apocalypse.  There is still room for a few more players.

We had a wonderful weekend of gaming at the Sandbaggers Game Club.  15 people showed up Friday to game or just chat and on Saturday there were 21 people in the club at midnight playing in four different games.  I didn’t make a head count before that, but 3 to 4 people had come and left before then.

The guys played out the first act of The Treasure of Sangriento Cuchillo, Friday night.  They all started out in a cattle town jail in West Texas.  As strangers they had been rounded up and accused of the murder of a local deputy sheriff, of course they were innocent, but that didn’t mean they wouldn’t hang if they didn’t perform a jail break.

 I finally finished the opening script for what I’m now calling "The Treasure of Sangriento Cuchillo".  I made contact with our final player last night to make sure he’s coming.  He says he is, so I wrote him lines in the opening.   I’m counting on having five players tomorrow night, maybe six.  We should have a good time role-playing in the old ( Read more... )

I wrote a new plot for the Wild West RPG that starts this Friday (6-13-08), at the Sandbaggers Game Club, The Mines of Sangriento Cuchillo. Well, the guys have thrown me a curve on the first pitch with the characters they created on Friday and Saturday night.   My original storyline was made useless by the characters they made (not enough classic western archetypes), but I awoke with inspiration and have a great idea (I hope) to tie them together with a common motive.  I see a story ( Read more... )
